Recently, Guangdong Chenggong Law Firm has achieved successive important results in the field of bankruptcy legal services. The debtor solvency assessment case for personal bankruptcy undertaken by our firm, which belongs to the first batch of such cases nationwide, has been successfully selected as one of the National Classic Bankruptcy Cases of 2025. Our firm was invited to attend the forum on administrative management of bankruptcy affairs in Shenzhen, and Lawyer Qiu Wenwei delivered a special sharing on this benchmark case on behalf of the firm.

The selection of "National Classic Bankruptcy Cases of 2025" was jointly initiated by the editorial departments of authoritative legal journals including Political Science and Law Forum and Journal of Law Application, together with multiple academic institutions and university research centers. It is a highly professional and authoritative case selection event in the national bankruptcy field.

After multiple rounds of rigorous review, the selection results were officially released on April 26, 2026, and the first batch of national personal bankruptcy debtor solvency assessment cases handled by our firm was successfully selected.

On May 29, 2026, marking the fifth anniversary of the implementation of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Personal Bankruptcy Regulations, the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Justice and the Shenzhen Municipal Bankruptcy Administration held a forum on the administrative management of bankruptcy affairs at the Futian District Public Legal Service Center. The forum gathered representatives from competent authorities at all levels, judicial organs, industry experts and other parties. Participants conducted in-depth discussions on the practical outcomes, institutional optimization and practical difficulties arising from five years of implementation of the personal bankruptcy system, summarized the pilot experience of the special economic zone, and planned directions for subsequent improvement.

Lawyer Qiu Wenwei, a member of the personal bankruptcy team of Guangdong Chenggong Law Firm, was appointed by the firm and invited to the forum as a representative of personal bankruptcy administrators, and shared typical cases during the special exchange session. At the meeting, Lawyer Qiu Wenwei gave an introduction focusing on the first debtor solvency assessment case—the joint personal bankruptcy reorganization case of Mr. and Mrs. Chen, and reviewed the entire case handling process in detail. As one of the first batch of national personal bankruptcy debtor solvency assessment cases, this case took the lead in establishing a solvency assessment mechanism for personal bankruptcy debtors, filling institutional gaps and forming a national model case. It addresses obstacles in advancing personal bankruptcy procedures, provides a path for economic rehabilitation for honest yet unfortunate debtors, and offers a local pilot reference for national personal bankruptcy legislation.
